You don’t have an energy problem. You have an ownership problem.
Most high-level executives and high-performers believe that the only way to reach the next level is to grind harder, sleep less, and "push through" the exhaustion. They treat their bodies like a machine that can be run on fumes until the engine seizes. But here is the truth that most won't tell you: burnout isn't a badge of honor; it’s a failure of leadership: starting with the leadership of yourself.
If you are waiting for a "break" to find your focus, you’ve already lost. High performance isn't about the 10 hours you spend in the boardroom; it’s about the 34 minutes you spend on yourself. That’s 2% of your day. If you can’t give yourself 2% to ensure the other 98% is excellent, you aren't leading: you’re just reacting.
As a Veteran and someone who has lived in the high-stakes world of professional performance, I know that intensity is easy. Anyone can go hard for a sprint. But consistency? Consistency is where the elite are separated from the average. This is the "Body Shyft" you need to make.
The 2% Rule: Consistency vs. Intensity
We’ve been conditioned to think that transformation requires hours of grueling effort. We think we need a two-hour gym session or a weekend-long meditation retreat to "reset."
Stop waiting for the "perfect" window. It doesn’t exist.
The 34-Minute Mindful Method is built on the reality of your life. It’s a tactical protocol designed to regulate your nervous system, rebuild your physical resilience, and allow you to rise into the highest version of yourself. We’re moving away from random acts of intensity and toward a disciplined rhythm of consistency.
When you prioritize these 34 minutes, you aren't just "working out" or "journaling." You are training your brain to stay in the Role Model Mindset. You are teaching your body that you are the one in control, not the stress of your inbox.

Step 1: The 2-Minute Morning Priming (0–2 Minutes)
How do you start your day? If the first thing you do is reach for your phone to check Slack or emails, you have handed over your sovereignty before your feet even hit the floor. You are already in a state of reaction.
To Shyft into a high-performance mindset, you must win the first two minutes. This isn't about "manifesting" or "woo-woo" affirmations. This is about tactical priming.
Grab a notebook: I use my Krystal Clear Life Planner: and answer two questions:
- Who needs me at 100% today? (Your team? Your spouse? Your kids? The version of yourself that is capable of greatness?)
- Who can I make smile today?
This simple act takes you out of "survival mode" and puts you back into "leader mode." It grounds your Identity. It reminds you why you are doing what you do. You aren't just grinding for a paycheck; you are showing up for the people who matter.
Step 2: The 30-Minute Movement Medicine (2–32 Minutes)
Movement is medicine: period. But for the high-performer, movement is also mental training in disguise.
When you engage in a 30-minute structured workout, you are doing more than just burning calories. You are building the "mental edge." Every rep where you want to quit but don't, every minute where your lungs burn but you stay focused, is a brick in the wall of your resilience.
I don't care if it’s a HIIT circuit, a heavy lift, or a focused yoga flow. The goal is intentionality.
- 0–5 min: Dynamic warm-up (Regulate your body).
- 5–25 min: High-intensity or strength block (Rebuild your power).
- 25–30 min: Finisher and cool-down (Rise into your day).
This is where the "Body Shyft" happens. You aren't just exercising; you are reclaiming your energy. You are showing your nervous system that you can handle pressure without breaking. When you step out of that 30-minute block, you aren't just "tired": you are activated.

Step 3: The 2-Minute Evening Ownership (32–34 Minutes)
Most high-performers end their day by collapsing into bed, their minds still spinning with the 47 things they didn't finish. This is how you invite burnout.
To maintain a high-performance mindset, you must close the loop. You must take ownership of the day before you sleep. This is the "Y Factor": the transformation that starts with taking responsibility for your progress.
Spend your final two minutes reflecting:
- How did I show up today? (Did I live in my potential, or did I hide?)
- What is one win I can celebrate? (High-performers are notoriously bad at this. If you don't celebrate the wins, your brain stops wanting to work for them.)
- What is one thing I will improve tomorrow?
This practice prevents the "unplanned Shyfts" of life from knocking you off course. It allows you to process the day’s stress and go to sleep with a clear, focused mind. You are no longer a victim of your schedule; you are the architect of your life.
Step into Your Potential
The 34-Minute Mindful Method works because it is doable. It removes the excuse of "no time."
If you are a Veteran, you know that discipline is the foundation of freedom. If you are an executive, you know that ROI matters. The ROI on these 34 minutes is a version of yourself that is calmer, sharper, and more powerful than you’ve ever been.
You know the potential you are capable of. You can feel it. It’s that version of you that doesn’t get rattled by executive pressure, that leads with empathy and authority, and that has the physical energy to actually enjoy the life you are building.
The only thing standing between you and that person is 34 minutes of consistency.
