Stop waiting for the "perfect time" or for someone to finally hand you the keys to your own potential. If you’re sitting around hoping for a stroke of luck or a sudden burst of motivation to change your life, you’re already behind.
The truth? Your highest version isn't waiting for you at the end of a rainbow. She’s waiting for you to take ownership of the mess, the success, and everything in between.
Welcome to Day 7 of our journey. Today, we’re talking about the Y Factor. It’s the final piece of the puzzle, and quite frankly, it’s the most important one. Without ownership, transformation is just a fancy word for a temporary change. If you want to sustain the excellence you know you are capable of, you have to master the Shyft.
What is the Y Factor?
I talk a lot about the "Y" in Shyft. Why the spelling change? Because it represents YOU and YOUR WHY.
In my 22 years as a Veteran in the Air Force, I learned that leadership isn’t about the rank on your shoulder; it’s about the ownership in your heart. When things go sideways: and they will: the Y Factor is what determines whether you crumble or conquer.
Most people spend their lives looking for external solutions to internal problems. They want a better job, a better body, or better relationships, but they refuse to look at the common denominator in all those equations: Themselves.
The Y Factor is about looking in the mirror and saying, "I am responsible for where I am, and I am the only one responsible for where I’m going." That’s not a burden. It’s the ultimate freedom.

The Role Model Mindset: Living Your Potential NOW
You’ve heard me talk about the Role Model Mindset. This isn’t about being perfect for other people. It’s about being the person you would look up to. It’s about stepping into the excellent version of yourself before the world gives you permission.
Most people wait until they "arrive" to start acting like a leader. They wait until they lose the weight to start acting confident. They wait until they get the promotion to start acting like an executive.
The Shyft Master™ knows better. You don't get the results and then become the person. You become the person, and then the results follow. This is foundational self-building.
When you operate from the Y Factor, you stop asking "Why is this happening to me?" and start asking "How is the highest version of me going to handle this?"
Regulate → Rebuild → Rise
You can’t build a skyscraper on a swamp. If your nervous system is fried and your mindset is stuck in survival mode, you can’t achieve the excellence you’re destined for.
That’s why the framework is always: Regulate → Rebuild → Rise.
- Regulate: You have to get your body and mind back to a baseline of safety and calm. This is where somatic work and the 34 Minute Mindful Method come in.
- Rebuild: Once you’re regulated, you can start rebuilding your identity. This is the "Identity Shyft" where you shed the old skin of "who you were" and start constructing the architecture of "who you are."
- Rise: This is where the magic happens. This is the execution. This is where you live in the potential you know you are capable of.

Ownership is the Bridge to Your Future
As a Veteran, I’ve seen what happens when people lose their sense of purpose. When the uniform comes off, or the corporate title changes, or the kids move out, there’s often a vacuum.
If you haven't taken ownership of your identity outside of those roles, you'll feel lost. But when you own your Y Factor, your purpose doesn't depend on your title. Your purpose is a reflection of your internal alignment.
Are you living a life that is aligned with your highest self? Or are you just going through the motions, checking boxes, and wondering why you feel unfulfilled despite your "success"?
If you aren't sure where you stand, it's time for a reality check. Take the Life Alignment Assessment right now. Stop guessing and start knowing exactly where the gaps are.
The Power of the 34-Minute Commitment
Ownership doesn't mean doing everything at once. It means being consistent with the things that matter. I built my entire wellness philosophy around the 34 Minute Mindful Method.
Why 34 minutes? Because it’s doable. It’s a non-negotiable window of time where you take ownership of your Body Shyft. Whether it’s movement, nutrition planning, or mindset work, those 34 minutes are your "Y Factor" in action.
It’s about self-leadership. If you can’t lead yourself for 34 minutes a day, how can you expect to lead an organization, a family, or a movement?

Step Into Your Excellence
Transformation isn't a one-time event. It’s a daily choice. It’s the decision to stop living in the "what if" and start living in the "what is" while moving toward the "what’s next."
The world doesn't need more people playing small. It needs you to step into the excellent version of yourself. It needs you to own your story: the trauma, the triumphs, the transitions: and use it as fuel.
You are capable of more than you’ve ever imagined, but you’ll never see it as long as you’re making excuses for why you aren’t there yet.
Regulate. Rebuild. Rise.
Your highest version is calling. Are you going to pick up?
